Breast Cancer Hotlines and Information Centers


Cancer Information Service 1-800-4-CANCER (TTY 1-800-332-8615)
A free service provided by the National Cancer Institute, the Cancer Information Service is a public hotline to interpret and explain cancer research findings in clear and understandable language. Call Monday through Friday 9 am to 5 pm ET to speak with a live person; recorded information about cancer is available 24 hours per day.

The American Cancer Society 1-800-ACS-2345
The American Cancer Society is a volunteer advocacy organization that works to eliminate cancer through prevention, lifesaving treatment, and research, education, and direct service. Their 24-hour hotline provides prerecorded information on a range of topics.
Y-ME National Breast Cancer Organization 1-800-221-2141 (En Espanol 1-800-986-9505)
Y-ME's aim is to increase breast cancer awareness and ensure that no one faces breast cancer alone by providing information, empowerment and peer support. The group's 24-hour hotline is staffed by breast cancer survivors. Y-Me also offers a matching service that can bring a newly diagnosed breast cancer patient together with a survivor with a similar diagnostic or pathologic profile to facilitate understanding of the treatment process and to provide support.
Susan G. Komen Foundation 1-800-I'M-AWARE (1-800-462-9273)
The Komen Foundation operates a toll-free hotline staffed by trained volunteers whose lives have been affected by breast cancer. These volunteers have the latest information on breast health, and can offer accurate information on breast health and breast cancer. The hotline is open Monday through Friday 9 am to 4:30 pm, CT.
